Conceived and developed on 500 hectares near Dubai World Central, Dubai Industrial City (DI) is the UAE's first "custom-built one-stop shop for industries on a work, live and play model." This self-contained 'city within a city' lays emphasis on the growth and expansion of the industrial sector in Dubai - especially high value-added manufacturing and production in the light and medium industry segments.

Dubai Industrial City features 6 dedicated manufacturing zones for Machinery & Mechanical equipment, Transport Equipment and parts, Base Metal, Chemicals, Food and Beverage and Mineral Products. Aside from the primary industrial-focused establishments, it offers institutes of higher learning, research and development centers, convention and exhibition halls, office towers, retail areas, entertainment and leisure areas, as well as residential and community complexes. These projects are further complemented by logistics and retail developments.

The ‘city' is served by high order expressways and arterial roadways. Its master plan provides a variety of land-uses, developed around the proposed Arabian Canal. The canal would engage both sides of the development, creating an urban downtown where housing, commercial and educational areas will be evolved to accommodate people in attractive, landscaped settings.
