Al Lulu Island is a large manmade islet spread over 1400 acres, 500 meters offshore from the Abu Dhabi Corniche. It is a mixed commercial and residential project dotted with several lovely beaches. Al Lulu Island is in fact the most important element of the UAE capital's future framework that is totally in line with Plan Abu Dhabi 2030. Work began in 1988 and land reclamation was completed in 1992.The island illustrates a range of residential, resort and retail areas, as well as water features with canals and marinas. It comprises several high-end, low-rise projects with large open spaces. Community amenities are planned within both neighborhoods and on the island at large. Educational and sports facilities are highlighted in the parks, where playing fields are integrated into the landscape.

Other projects on Lulu Island include hotels, restaurants, gardens, and bird and animal sanctuaries. The island will also have, fun-parks and several other facilities for the children.
